Musgrave has reached a deal with receivers to buy Superquinn just hours after the supermarket chain confirmed it was in receivership.
The Cork-based retail group said it would safeguard the company's 2,800 jobs.
In a statement this morning, Musgrave said the deal will secure the long term viability of the Superquinn business and protect 2,800 jobs.
